Pretending To Be Virginia Poem by carole turner

Pretending To Be Virginia

I have my pen and paper
I've Goggled once or twice
I'm confident enough by now
The words will flow like (?)

But now my thought's evade me
I've nothing new to write
i'm sat here cold and empty
Through the long and lonely night.

Oh! Virginia - How I envy you
The words you trotted out
So sleek - So smooth - So polished
It makes me want to shout.

So perhaps I should re-consider
And put my plans to rest
And take up Art or Fishing say
Um! Perhaps it would be best.
