Pride Poem by Whisper Dawn

Pride

Try as I might
things just don't seem right
trying to let go, it's just so slow
this hurting inside
it has to subside
I want to just hide,
but I have too much pride
this hole in my chest
does not give me any rest
Wake up from the night
only to realize
there really is no light
I know when it's over
I know it's the end
But to my heart
it seems not to bend
everything I thought
everything I knew
gone with a blink
with no time to think
yes I know it's time to say good bye
and let my heart know our love was a lie.
