Prideful Fear Poem by Boricua Justice

Prideful Fear

Forceful way of thinking

Prisoner to my own solitude

Words of expressions eludes me

from fear of a crowded room

As I make a voice over in my head of phrases I'm about to use

I laugh steadily from nervousness

Until a calmness sets my mood

Vexed with stage fright

worrying about my performance

Thinking if the audience would boo

But my alter ego could careless

saying you came here to impress

So burst out that charisma

Now that that you intentions are clearer

Walk with confidence and poise

That applause you here is all yours

Those words you just spoke weren't just noise

They touched in a way only understood by faith

That breakthrough they just had god saved them by grace
