Princess Ann Too Poem by Barry Van Allen

Princess Ann Too

You have read the words I've written,
... Ann... believe me, I regret that,
for I never meant to cause you any pain,
it was a quickly formed opinion,
based on an errant observation,
about a subject I had no business,
weighing in on.

I have explained to you my reasons,
and apologized profusely,
although it feels less than useless to me,
for the folly I have done,
... and though the substance now is gone,
it leaves a stain in me.

We have made friends on the outside,
and now begin to touch the inside,
I don't want to know AT ALL about you two,
... let's talk baseball, ... let's talk movies,
... let's talk music, ... favorite bands,
... just consider me to be a little
... Switzerland!

Even though we both agree,
that it wasn't only me,
there were other factors neither could control.

Gad Zukes! ! ! A mortal with a conscience....gasp! ! ! (just teasing...) Barry...I'm sure that Princess Ann...wherever she may be...has forgiven you...for whatever beastly crime you have committed... At least...we can always hope that she has...: -) Hugs, Dee
