Princess Wish Poem by Christopher Ditlow

Princess Wish

There once was a princess who was the most beautiful in the land. She had all the princes give her their hand. None of these princes had what it takes. It was always her heart that they would break. Then one day she went to a pond with plenty of fish. This is where she made her hearts wish. To find a man that would love her for all time. Not one that would only give her a line. She wanted a man that would love her for who she is. One that forever they could live in bliss. When she was done with her wish and stood up. The beating of her heart had an interrupt. For coming to find her was a man. Up next to her he came to stand. 'My fair lady are you alright? ' 'you look like you had a fright.' She just smiled at him and they started to laugh. As they started walking a path. The two of them talked and talked. As together they did walk. When they got home she went to her dad. What he did made her sad. For this man she found had a past. Her dad wouldnt let him be with her, wouldnt let it last. Yet this mans love for her was too great. He would do whatever it would take. He explained to the king his love and how he would treat her right. Love her and defend her with all his might. The king saw the passion and truth that the man had. He saw without this man his daughter would be forever sad. The king then released him and they together were one. For there hearts had finally won.
