Professor Amos Sez Poem by David E Navarro

Professor Amos Sez

You little thingamajig
with your single anode
arcing across space
to the mercury-pool cathode

Did you think
you could rectify power?

Oh, you did.

Well, I never liked electronics
neither you Radio Shack geeks
nor Professor Sez, so

In lab I would whisper
to my classmates
'ignore Amos Sez.'

And he would always laugh
tell me some day
I would understand
what an ignitron I was.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
