Promise Poem by Kristinahh KIMBER

Promise

I love him, promises my skin
As giving me a sign
To throw the promise made
This heart out on the line

I give him my forever
Clasped within his hands
He lets it go, I feel it fall
Losing my only chance

What if his grip is loosened?
By another’s eternity
And what if he lets it drop?
Slowly, breaking me

I feel different than before
My heart has doubled speed
I need to let it go
To hold on to my only need.

His eyes tell me to kiss him
But his lips back me away
So I let it dropp into the ground
As I slowly hear him say

“I love you promised my skin
as giving me a sign
to throw the promise made
this heart out on the line”
