Promise Ring Poem by Phineas Molale

Promise Ring

They call it a promise ring
What promise does it make
What words comes from it.
What oath swears it
Crystal and pure as seen, all leverage
Shining gold and diamonds
Peers gather for eats and drinks

Sharing life's experience of a promise
Yesterday's, today's and tomorrow's
Harmonizing intact metal
A promise to be broken
The day is afar
A newbie's mirage of greenery
How patient is a patient man if he can't wait
And then spoke the golden torus
