Promised Poem by Andrus Cassian

Promised

Hello again
hello again my page
hello again my paper
It's good to see you again
I've been a little wayward
your wayward son
I'm sorry I have a been little depressed
something came up
and turned my world inside out
just another typical messy situation
but that's irrelevant
it's not important
There's something I need to tell you
there's someone I need to tell you about
I failed to mention her before
I just had to run
I was running
I didn't know her too well
and even though she'd showed obvious interest in me
I had to run
I didn't want to be the one to hurt her
She's funny
she's full of the jokes I love to share
the jokes I love to take part in
She's beautiful
though she will never admit it
though she will blush
and whisper fairytales of how she will never be
what she already is
She's smart, insightful
She's patient
patient with me
I messed up a chance with her
for fears and a personal distraction I couldn't avoid
but I'm determined to make it known to this volleyball star
I'm determined to make this blue eyed girl
have faith in me
I just want to prove to her
second chances are real
I just want to be able to prove
I'm worthy
I just want to be able to prove
she's beautiful
a butterfly in a world of bees
a butterfly in a world of wasps
She's one of a kind
Thank you page for listening
here's a thank you from your wayward son
for I have been depressed too long
and this was long overdue
for her, I promised this was about her
for you I promised I would write this for you
