Promises Through The Dreamless Nights Poem by Marcus Golding

Promises Through The Dreamless Nights

Don't cry for me my precious sight
You have a shining light
Ill never rush or pressure you
To share a loving night

You underestimate my own resolve
To never deal in pain
Happy times with a smiles and sighs
You're worth the drive of 5000 miles

I find your fragile soul alluring
Your eyes, your toes, your ears and nose
Your lips so sweet and thin
Your ex was beyond the dim
To make you hurt that way

I don't know what I can promise you
Or make you cry on my account
To break your fragile beauty
With something that I spout
But if I do it's not on purpose
I am just a man after all

love is a word I can't spill easily
Too easy to say
So hard to prove

For a while I was dead,
from neck down an empty soul,
of hollow hope,
and dreamless nights
I gave up hope of loving nights

One year has passed and it's still not fixed
But now it beats again
I too can't take the games the pain
So i comprehend your protective wall
That shields us from another fall

You asked for truth and this is mine,
To give it up would take some time
It's only just switched back on
Still weak and shadowed a tragic song
