Promising The Land A Dream Poem by Catherine Yen

Promising The Land A Dream

Please promise the land a dream
Promise an innocent death of human’s vice
Raft of life
In the undercurrent of waves
Flickered
Black the pitch-dark
Tied like a speechless tongue

Without words
Witnessed the old obsolete atrocity
Driven out a warm desire
No evolution for those who abandoned people
Making a puke of prayer
Toward himself
Emptiness of an extreme in literature
The city became ruins

Your name
Is burning under the statue
Lament
Solid my tenacity
Press your lips
To the light of my heart
The huge soul
Self-pitiless
