Protection Poem by Heather Burns

Protection

Billowing clouds
gather
moisture,
cumulus and dark,
threating the day.

Silently a breeze
whispers of
youthfulness and
its sweet hour.

Gallant leaves
close the gap,
hovering together
forming tiny
umbrellas
for protection.

Plaited arms
entwine
shielding
view-points
providing
safe guards.

A brave knight
mounts his
white stallion
arrayed in
shining armour.

Challenging the
trade winds.
