Psalm 1 Poem by Cory Huennekens

Psalm 1

Father! Save me! I’m surrounded on all sides
The problem is the same, but the enemy different
I’m bombarded by digital arrows
Weapons that seek my life
Attacked by swords and clubs and lies
I’ve felt madness, rescue me from that dark river
who’s current pulls men to the depths
I’ve felt true helplessness,
Yeshua saves
I’m powerless which is not popular to say
I’m weak which is considered bad

Blessed are the weak!
For their eyes recognize the hand of God
Blessed are the poor!
For their spirit sees blessings

My transgressions are forgiven
Because Yeshua was found acceptable
He is my lamb, white enough for the ages
Innocent enough for the greatest sin

The Father has done something great, behold!
The kingdom of heaven is neigh
The kingdom of heaven is inside you
A great light has shown in the darkness!

My Father in Heaven-
I’m scared because my faith is not great
Daily I feel like a scared child

I hold on to your mercy and grace
To the hope you promised
In the faith you have given me

I make my weakness plain
So that you will lift me up
Concern your angels about me

You have lightened my eyes
Uphold me Father!
I’m surrounded by the enemy
Helpless without my Lord.
