Psalm On Memory

A memory perpetuates
In the absence
Of wilt
Of wither
Of decay

She rests
Like an incandescent star
Resisting all shadows
Of evanescent time

Yet she is
Only a solitary speckle
Of an unlit skyline
Of your yesteryear
