THE PAST IS NEVER DEAD
The past is never dead, said William Faulkner, it’s
not even ever past.
The present’s not alive unless you use your wits,
and you can’t make it last,
not even if you use your wits, because it turns
into the past. No one
can hang onto them. That’s why no one ever learns
from either, so have fun!
William Faulkner famously once stated: “The past is never dead. It's not even past.”
