Pull Through Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

the pain reflected in her heart after fighting back tears
never understanding the turmoil she put up with for years
longing to be free someday but struggling to deal
living out the nightmare that was so very real
unpleasant thoughts would often cross her mind
refusing to let them over flood and render her blind
life isn't exactly a field where beautiful flowers bloom
still she kept a smile when inside she experienced gloom
but she would not allow her life to travel the road to doom
discovering the strength to gain some control
not allowing the madness to break her soul
full of hope accepting to pull through
out of the misery that has caused her much pain
now finding herself in a place she can't explain
but she fought with all her might and although no one believed her cries
she continued to keep that glimmer of hope she's discovered to keep her alive
