Questions Poem by Val Jennings

Questions

Rating: 4.5

If our hearts entwine are you stringing me along?
If we do it for a lark are we both engaged in song?
If we loose it in the clutch have we both stripped our gears?
If we hold the tender moments will our marriage last the years?

If I'm the top banana do you see me as a fruit?
If I get the whole enchilada is there something for dessert?
If I tell you your a beauty do you think you are a horse?
If our romance is in blossom, has it flowered? Yes, of course!

If I whisper those sweet nothings do I fill an empty head?
If I pamper all your fancies will you want to stay in bed?
If the morning after jitters leave you with a giggly smile
Have I kept the grand adventure? Can you travel on in style?

If I take poetic liscense and use puns throughout the day
will you smile and still love me or will you run away?
If you still stand beside me, is it love that keeps you there?
If so, my darling, Karla, you're the answer to my prayer.
