Questions Of Love Poem by Rosemary Monahan

Questions Of Love

The time is almost eleven
You said you'd be back by seven.
You have lied to me
But how can that be?
You said you'll always be true.
Should I still wait for you?
You never came back
Did you get on the wrong track
I don't understand
Did you plan on staying with me
Or was it a one-night stand?
I guess I'll never know.
We planned our future together
Now it seems like its over.
Please tell me, am I wrong?
I promise I'll try to be strong.
Please don't lie to me again
Is it the beginning or is this the end?

I haven't heard a word from you
What am I suppose to do?
I have one thing in mind
But is it worth all the trouble
trying to get you back as mine?
Will you wait if I am able?
Will you get in touch with me?
Will you stay or will you leave?
There's one thing I haven't asked you
Do you really love me
Or was it just a fling?
I hope the answer is what I'm expecting
All I have is questions now
that only YOU can answer
which you probably won't, anyhow
But I want you to remember
whatever you decide to do
I'll always love you
forever and ever.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My young life, many years ago, Iwas so naive to men. I hadn't a clue that there were men out there who only had one thing in mind and my heart being tender and young just fall for the same old line.
