Questions Of The Heart Poem by Patricia Gale

Questions Of The Heart

Would you lay by my side in the early morn’
Hold me close and tell me I love you so
Could you walk through the day happy because you know I am yours
Anticipate the time when our eyes meet again

Would you look into my eyes of blue
And tell me how you have missed me
Caress my cheek and run your fingers through my hair
Pull me close to your chest as I hear your heart pound out my name

Could you admire a deep devotion
A love that would consume past the grave
Could you give back what you receive
Matching emotion for emotion

Would you love into the night
Casting all away just for me
Could you accept being my prince
And loving me as your princess

Should you
Would you and finally…
Could you?

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Boy are you on brilliant poetic form lately with loving pieces lovingly penned, often with that questioning (and appealing) twist of insecurity..... t x
