Quite Lucky Indeed Poem by Francis Duggan

Quite Lucky Indeed

Compared to the worries of some mine do seem quite small
That is if one can call them worries at all
Though ageing I'm healthy without any pain
I am one without reason for to complain
So many poor people decades younger than I
In third World Countries of hunger do die
So many homeless teenagers living rough on the street
Searching rubbish bins for food others would not eat
Of violence and murder in the news headlines we do hear
Poor people in war zones are living in fear
Of terrorism on the streets and bombers from the sky
They cry out for help but none do heed their cry
Compared to the sufferings of others that I hear of and read
I count myself lucky quite lucky indeed.
