R-E-S-P-E-C-T Poem by Ramona Thompson

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Inspired by the song of the same name by the legend, Aretha Franklin

You will learn
Or you will be left to yearn
When my flame is burning
Taking my name to heights of fame higher and higher
You'll be wishin'
You had treated me right
Never ever mistreated me or kicked me outta your sight

Call me names
Doubt my work's devotion
You will be exposed as the fool you already know that you are
I've had enough
I won't take anymore of you and your childish bullshh
Today is the day I put my foot down to say
R-A-M-O-N-A demands and will get your R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Act like a bully or a brat
You will be treated as such
Dish it out and expect the same dished right back at ya
I'm no pansy and I've no pushover
Try to run me over
And you will soon feel my poetic wrath
Vemonous and deadly just like a ten foot tall cobra made of steel

Tough as nine inch nails
More sticky then Elmber's glue
Harder to remove then your cheating lover's last tell tell stain
I am forever
I am going nowhere anytime soon
So try with all your might
It won't do you any good
I'll still be the one
The only one
The one history will remember
As the greatest poetic talent that has or ever will live

I don't know about you
But that's what I really call.....
