Rabbie Poem by Bridget Hemstock

Rabbie

Tonight, pride for country, charges through veins
Like the Flying Scotsman Distillery Train
Laddies he'd teach you a thing or two
With his golden tongue and his flattering coo
Patriotism, the flag, tradition
Rabbie Burns we admire this day yer mission

Passionate beasties gather ye together
This bard to honour forever & ever
He wore an egalitarian & principled hat
'A Man's a Man for A' That'
Turn up the heat ye cannie Jocks
And admire ye lassies in their bonnie frocks

Lungs of breath kick start the pipes
In praise of this Scot who died so ripe
Helzin one and all, heads down Selkirk Grace
Dagger in Haggis, 'neeps and fatties fill face
His roses so red like his Saltire so blue
Here's tae ye one and all, a wee dram salutes you
