Raging Storms Poem by Rose Marie Cook

Raging Storms

Blue skies part and let the rumbling clouds roam in.
Birds take flight and hide as rain drops down.
The puffs of white transform to monsters of gray,
Rain pours down piercing the thick air.

Lightning flashes anger and thunder yells for silence.
Darkness taking over, rain freezing; turning to snow
Flash after flash shines hatred.
Hail pelts down as thunder adds to the threat.

Tornadoes tear through the clouds,
Churning the air, destroying our success,
Hurricanes sucking in, making it hard to see,
The vortexes speed up and mesmerize us.

Catastrophe everywhere, people ruined.
The hail stops, clouds evaporate, a
Clear sky shines down and heat washes
Over us, peace has finally come.
