Rain Poem by naheed brown

Rain

Rating: 3.5

Rain,
constant rain,
everlasting, heart wrenching,
drip-dropping
earthworm writhing,
drenched raven's
monotonous wailing,
grey lonely dove's
listless cooing,
rain.

Rain,
grey,
weeping willows,
dark, dreary pines
gloomy thoughts.

Rain,
pining,
craving,
yearning,
reminding,
me of you.

No more blazing orchids,
no more scorching sun,
no more bougainvilleas painting the skies
with earth shattering hues.
No more palm trees
beckoning with enticing arms.
calling me...
calling me.....

Rain,
reminding
of our chance meeting,
coffee mug crashing
into hundred small pieces,
hot spill on hands,
nervous smiles,
eyes meeting,
lingering, caressing invisibly...
when,
suddenly,
you were there,
a thunderstorm,
a swift, powerful
lightning.

A heart-wrenching Hurricane,
An ominous Tsunami,
a wave of hope...
a wave of despair...
a wave of awakening.

Life without you,
will be rainy days
without the lightning,
the storm,
the waves.
Just plain rain-
gloomy,
dark,
listless.

And I,
like a mournful dove,
a drenched raven,
wailing...
scavenging,
pick on the writhing worm.
Hungry.
Loathsome.
Ugly.

Pining for you,
grey,
dreary,
dark,
gloomy,

Rain...
