Rain Or Shine Poem by Ali Rahimi

Rain Or Shine

With me, she promised to dine,
Listen to music, dance, drink red wine,
Yes, she promised, rendezvous at nine,
She said, she would come, rain or shine,
Felt happy like a duck in Arizona, was on cloud nine,
Was a bundle of joy, she was mine, she was mine,
Wow! It was Valentine,
Bought her red roses, like I was on a pilgrimage to the shrine,
Or a soldier returning from the frontline,
Thought she was a gem, a glittering pearl, a goldmine,
A star dazzling the skyline,
The sun, she would outshine,
She was kind, pious, so divine,
I was there at nine, sharp nine,
Waited, waited, waited, waited,
Was counting down the minutes to see her, my sunshine,
With massive passion, tremendous love, impossible to define,
Was burning inside like a furnace, that was fine, K
Kept waiting till half past nine,
WTF! Jamilah was kissing a man so elephantine!
Was shocked like mad, my heart clenched!
My blood coagulated, my hands were trembling like a drilling machine,
Frank was muscular, huge, a frightening macho, a bovine,
A ghastly, gruesome, grisly gunner, the nasty sign,
Ugly as a toad, he sent horror in my spine,
Jamilah grimaced, smiled at me like a flashy concubine!
Yes, it was nine, Valentine at nine!
Red roses dried, died, turned into ashes in my hand!
Time and women wait for no man!
Rain or shine!

Time waits for no man but a woman does if she loves truly and is loved truly
