Rain, when you drenched me with your cold wet drops
I felt so alone and forlorn
On slick pavements it fell
Alone, along, for long.
Rain, I tried with words to understand your song
The dripping, the dropping
The downpour, the fury and the flurry
Alone, along, for long.
Rain, I felt humble when you fell and wet the city
As you were absorbed by the soil
Rivers waited for you, bareheaded I walked
Alone, along, for long.

You make beautiful music with this one. The refrain adds an exquisite touch. Love, Sandra
The melancholy feel of this poem is beautifully expressed. The alliteration works really well, and the last line on each stanza actually feels like rain beating down to me. Great work! Karin Anderson

The rain has that quality, n'est pas? Sometimes it is nice to walk in the rain, sometimes it matches our mood. You have caught that 'rainy days and mondays' mood very well indeed.
