Raincoat Wet Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Raincoat Wet

I left my house feeling rain,
I uplifted my spirit,
Got rid of the pain.
It was the rain of softness.

What you call the pitter-patter,
The delicate raindrops falling,
My happiness,
Arising.

You know, I didn't miss the sun.
I wanted from it to run,
Because the wetness kept me here.
It made it go away, my fear.

It greeted the rain with my raincoat wet,
I didn't fume, didn't fret.
The rain it gave me a smile,

The rain became my forever friend.
