I sit on my porch
Watching the rain hit the ground
Not a child is laughing
Not a sound is made
There's not a word to say
On this rainy day
The town is quiet
No car is heard
The town's people are restless
But they don't say a word
On this rainy day
The dogs whine
The angels cry
A line of light
Flashes through the sky
On this rainy day
Even though the town is gloomy
And the children can't come out to play
We all know everything will be okay
On this rainy day.
