Random Rambles From My Skull Poem by Midnight Clarity

Random Rambles From My Skull

cool whine, hot buzz
as mosquitos ride the wave
of wind before the rain
and flock around me
exotic scented sweat
triggering attacks
that should be fatal
i am the poisoned apple
with a hand too slow
to slaughter.
I live, I breathe on time
spun by belief, perception, faith.
The knowledge
that we all live out
a garland of moments
filled with fragance
or with dust - our choice,
our fears and hesitations
i can see an xray
as a sentence, as a guide,
see mosquitos as a nuisance
or a messenger
of cool, of comfort
wafting down the pipe.
one will bring me sleep, the other
promises to tie my soul in knots
after the years of untangle
I have spent in zendo
pouring sweat from stillness
hearing my heartbeat
like an anthem and a gong,
feeling a deep oceanic gulp
of laughter as for one fleeting moment
I know
and then forget
in a torrent of released emotion
that floods satori from my human soul
and leaves me nowhere else to go
but now.
