' ' ' ' Reading Edmond Jabes

Rating: 2.7

As I read
the sun squints

through the window
over my shoulder

producing a white
diamond of light

that places itself
over the word 'light'

& a scattered rainbow
that claws at the word 'darkness.'

They follow me
page by page

seeking out other words
to comment upon.

I accept my reading companions
(don't even check to see where they are

...coming from.

It's enough
that they are here

brightening my day

they & I
reading Edmond Jabes.
