Reading The Message Poem by Manzanilla Mija

Reading The Message

You'd pull my hair, so I'd cut it off.

You'd spit on my paper, so I'd throw it away.

You can take my phone, yet you won't know the password.

You can turn off my light, but I'll always find an outlet.

You can shoot me tonight, but I'll still survive.

You'll kill my spirit, but never my soul.

You can trick my mind, but you can't infest it.

Everyone has a choice to accept, or have exceptions.

Everyone can read a message and get it, or get it and not read it.

I am not sure of the true inspiration behind your work GK, but anyone being bullied can take this to heart. Wonderfully expressed.
