Real-Life Romeo Poem by Sans Serif

Real-Life Romeo

Rating: 5.0

This is a song I wrote for all the people in love with their best friend, but never have the courage to express it.

I walked into the room
And I saw your dreaming face
I was it caught in gloom
And wanted happiness to take its place.
I've seen the books you read
And the shows you love to watch.
As I watch you dream about these things
I see you constantly notch

Chorus 1:
Away at the day you long to see
Your real-life Romeo
And I watch you dream constantly
Because you think you already know
That he doesn't exist in your life like this
Your real-life Romeo.
If you'll give me a chance
You'll see I'm him, If only you could know.

Now you stare at what appears
To be a Roman God,
Though you don't take time to see
Through his weak facade.
He plays the girls just like some toy
And he dumps them when he's through
So please ignore this Roman tease
Cause I can see he's not into you.

Chorus 2:
You dream of the day you long to see
Your real-life Romeo,
And I watch you dream constantly
Because you think you already know
That he doesn't exist in life like this,
Your real-life Romeo.
If you'll give me a chance
You'll see I'm him, If only you would know.

Long time friend but I never stood
Between you and your hero
Because I long to see you happy
With your real-life Romeo.
I want to be that man you see,
For whom you hope and pray.
I'll carry you atop the world
As I sing a Midnight Serenade
To lull you to sleep and watch you dream
Of your real-life Romeo,
And when you wake, you sill see
He's been here, you didn't know.

Chorus 3:
And the day has come when you longed to see
Your real-life Romeo
And I watch your dreams come to be
Because you really know
That he does exist inside your life,
Your real-life Romeo
And I watch you cry
As I comfort you.
I've been her by your side.
