Reality And Dreams Poem by Mon Fur

Reality And Dreams

Dreams so sweet and ever so soft
Feels as though anything is possible
Reality shatters the Dream
Says “you have to prove your worth”

The Dream asks for no reward
How promising it seems
Reality yells at me
Says “not good enough”

Dreams tell me to take a break
“Stop trying so hard,
You’ll get there anyway”
The sweet voice like a melody

Reality pushes and pushes
Till my Dreams suddenly feel impossible
“I knew you weren’t worthy”
I’m suddenly determined

My Dreams coax me to rest
Assuring that there’s no need to try
I know better now
I push myself forward

Dreams are goals I wish upon a star for
But Reality helps me get there
