Reality Checks Poem by Jesse Tampa

Reality Checks

I look in the mirror and I see depression
It’s time to put out my confession
There’s a lot to learn in life, so we are taught a lesson

Wow there is such power in a lightning strike
A thunderous roar and hit could knock you off your bike
And I am not joking or else I would say sike

Jelly beans to my left, a window to my right
In the middle of an insane storm on the verge of night
A wet image outside is my current sight

I hear the television drowning us all with information
With the flicker of a button I could change the station
I’m too lazy though, so it continues in our nation
