Really Unforgettable Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Really Unforgettable

Rating: 5.0

Child school days are really unforgettable
Not that that it all confined to school table
It did something more to feel for other children
To think about them and learn new thing even

The greatest things was to learn about tolerance
May came with notorious type of activities and performed also at once
When pulled up by teacher then they understood some fair meaning
It was something more apart from learning

My memory rushed me back to two new friends
Both were from poor family and unable to meet the ends
Yet they may enter school politely with clean cloths
They were clever and innocent but powerful in math

I had special leaning for their attitude
For little favor they used to express gratitude
Always down to earth and very much expressive
Not at all hostile but very much polite and submissive

I noticed their absence for two days
There were not to be seen around as were unable to pay
Their fees for further months and hence had gone for farm labor
The teacher disclosed the fact in open and I decided to favor

'We want to come of our own 'was the polite reply
I unsuccessfully tried for help but it was futile try
What a way of living standard with full satisfaction?
What do we take it as an shining example or good indication?

Both have risen to highest position one can ever dream
Even though they had remained till last in our team
For so many years they remained not in contact
But some dividend was paid to them for hard act

Nothing goes in drain or in vain
The success then comes in chain
Bad old days don't remain for long time
They are replaced later on as happy days sometimes

My eyes got little wet when memory rushed all of sudden
Old days are sometimes remembered with clear vision
We analyze it with smile on face for the foolish actions of past
Yet it gives lots of joy and happiness even if fade away very fast

Nostalgia, Sir! But for once I want to be a child and go to the school. For once I want to sit in the same class room. And for once I want my teachers teach me. Well done Sir. U K Atiyodi, Kandangali, Payyanur 670307 Jul 19,2012

In the days of childhood, no one has prejudices of caste, religion, nation...You had wonderful schoolmates. They wanted to come up of their own efforts. In old age too, the childhood friends appear as they were in our vision. You have recalled all the interesting experiences of the childhood. The content of the poem deserves the credit given. Thanks a lot.
