Reappearing Flowers Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Reappearing Flowers

Rating: 5.0

She loved flowers of every sort
Her wonderful yard gave pleasure to the eye
With colors that dazzled and amazed…
Locking the gaze of many a passersby

Hollyhocks grew tall attracting buzzing bees
The tulip garden glowed with intense petal fire
Bountiful fragrant roses with bowing stems
Purple irises unfolded like fountains of desire

Her flowers were astonishingly spectacular
Each one tried to exceed the other’s radiance
As though to say…look at me, I love you more
She returned their love with admiring attendance

Many years later the lovely blooms define the day
Images of mother still flicker with fond tenderness
The past is celebrated with the reappearing blooms
Emotions surface… recalling her kind gentleness
