Reasonable Doubt Poem by Airda Jones

Reasonable Doubt

Caught in the moment
How different for us
To go with our instinct
And find so much
No reason other than
We’ve craved it for so long
To feel what it’s like
To prove logic wrong
All of the signs
Warned us away
But I couldn’t help but care
For you since that very day
Emotions rolling in
Breaking every barrier built
When I tried to sustain myself
I slowly began to melt
But how am I to feel
Now that you left me with this
One single moment and
One heart wrenching kiss
I have never been so lost
When evidence was this clear
That I love you plain and simple
But now, you are nowhere near
I know that you understand
You told me so when you left
Then why end it like this
Empty, unfulfilling and bereft.
