Receive God’s Strength Poem by Michael P. Johnson

When mortal man of flesh and bone
Receives Salvation’s Seed
We’ll seek to push away death’s stone
And rid satanic weed

We’ll see of self it can’t be done
The devil’s weeds are sweet!
We’ll need the help Christ God’s Son
We’ll sit at Jesus’ feet

Though bound in Satan’s chains of shame
Formed strong through links of sin
We need but call on Jesus’ name
Once truth has dawned within

God’s strength comes in His gift received
Through trust in Jesus Christ
He comes through faith in Him believed
The Lamb God sacrificed

Although the world may fail to see
Although no gold can buy
Through Jesus’ blood He comes quite free
To such as you and I

We need but of our sins repent
Return by way of Light
Believe in whom The Father sent
Who’s won for us the fight

To Satan’s end, the dye is cast
The world must understand
As Victor, stands The First & Last
With keys of like in hand

So mortal man, look deep inside
Is Jesus Christ your Lord?
If not, you’ll see the last divide
And feel God’s vengeful sword
