Receptionist Mary Poem by Scott Stanley Davis

Receptionist Mary

Its Mary, the name says it all; but let me tell you about another someone spun from the same son, for I seen his word sitting there by her side, and looked like it was her guide, I am sure she has applied. But this one works in an office surrounded by clerks and talks on the phone to sometimes jerks, who lurk with a smirk; But like most Mary's must endure with a smile and a kind line at times. Now don't let her fool you, for she isn't shy or timid and she will not sigh. But she will provide you with all you need so you don't have to standby if you are blind, and that could be in your own mind. She controls the biggest place in her city, where people come to be treated from being caught in accidents, life's situations, and troubles, there they are greeted by A Mary; where they are undecided yet guided to where they should go. And just like the one of old, she sits there from day to day hearing deplorable things and yet with a adorable essence of confidence continues to do it over and over; And when her life is done, she will stand by the other one; as the father says, what you have done to the least of these my brethren you have done it unto me. - Mary
