Recipe To Live Poem by Asma Khan

Recipe To Live

Chop off the hurtful veggies from the
stalk of life's garden and
water it with present's sprinkler

Slice the pains into pieces and boil them
to release the pressure from the cooker
to taste the better ends

Crumble and knead the awful thoughts and
bake them in the oven of patience to
bread the birds of nature

Sauté the dreams in the sauce of destiny
and sprinkle a dash of salt to add honesty
and dish it out with pepper of truth

Shred the crispy cheese of happiness over
the tears and toss the cheers inside it to
bring out the flavour of joys

Dip the fruits of memories into the honey
of time and let it simmer on the heat
of your crunchy past

Spoon the cream of efforts slowly over the top
and smear the inside with hopes to morsel it

Chew the raw greens of life's bounty
and taste the heavenly flavours of destiny
to relish joys of living

Swallow the past in the scoop full of life
and slurp the hot mixes of memories to
savor them in your mouth

Gobble the happiness with a zest of spicy fortune
poured in with the sauce of wisdom and kindness
to crave hunger forever!
