Reclamation Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

Reclamation

There inside
The old family recipes,
Beneath the anger
Stuffed away in the closets
She waited
Till the years
Fell away
From yesterday’s grudges
Like so much dust.
A child’s heart
Reclaimed
Had grown strong;
Ready to clean house
Create all new recipes
Of her own.
