Red Poem by Athena Gray

Red

I lay awake, at night, looking into space
fearing to close my eyes.
If I do I awake in another world,
world of fire and death, and so much red.
Red the blood that sockes the earth,
Red the love that keeps us alive, and
Red the rose that once was white,
like the dress on my 'I do' day.
Red the fire that burned my socked dress, and
Black the dream of my Red Hell.
