Red Light Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Red Light

Red

Oh, I like you red.
Santa's favorite color
And Rudolf's bright nose
That looks like a bright red rose.

But then red was a stop sign
And a traffic light too.
I didn't like stopping
I just liked driving.

The ambulances and the fire engines,
Were red alerts too.
Red seemed to be things gone wrong
A red warning, a warning song.

A red color.
A rose, a traffic light both red.
I like red.
It works in varied ways.
