Red Roses Poem by Kayte Stacy

Red Roses

As the last few moments drew so near,
I cradled my head in my arms to cry.
I finally felt the choking fear,
For a friend sentenced to die.
You know I’ll always miss you,
Reminisce on things once said,
But these hospital walls cast a bitter hue,
The monitor gets slower as I bow my head.
I’ll leave you roses by your grave,
So you’ll know I’ll always care.
I sit and cry as my chest begins to cave,
Everything was so beautiful.
You should have been there.
