Redemption Poem by Caleb Jones

Redemption

Angels have conquered, angels have flown,
But never to man has this power been known.
Feathers of silk captured in symbols, forever caught
To what has been so longingly sought.
Anger made wings go black and crumble as ash,
Leaving no mark but a heart with a gash.
Words sent were heard,
While those above conferred.
Fate being known by the falling of snow,
Above the cliffs, a figure alone awaits for the breeze to blow.
Gazing down, he leans forward and leaps
Those having witnessed begin to weep.
But before the first tears fall, wonderment strikes awe
As the man reappears, defying all set laws.
Reborn with new wings of white and gold,
His anguish being replaced tenfold
By the angels who above await, redemption having been shown.
