Redemption Call Poem by Olujobi Jedidiahz

Redemption Call

People come to my aid
Help me to analyse this
How you reject someone don’t know
I really don’t understand

Everybody rejected him
Nobody received him
A beautiful flower was he
Yet we chose to trample on Him

For no good reason, looked down on him
A shining star was He
Blameless and faultless
Still we didn’t want to know

Few found something to admire in Him
Nobody to show him love
No one paid attention to him,
Even in His own home none understand Him

But then, he was quiet
Humble, full of wits
He judged no one
Perfection was his name

And the out of the unappreciative crowd
He chose me;
A me filled with filth
Bathed by sin;
Clothed with hatred

A me full of faults drowned with guilt
He came to me smiling
Imagine, He bought me with a price
Beyond any human comprehension

So great a love he shed
Who can understand?
Said He has nothing against me
He brought gladness into my life
And flooded my heart with joy

Undoubtedly I’ve been changed
‘cos wonderful has filled me with wisdom
That can never be battled
Righteousness that can never be tarnished

Peace that can never be understood
Fame that can't be shamed
And above all;
Love that can never be drained
