Reflecting Pool Poem by Leon Agnew

Reflecting Pool

Whichever way I look
There's the same face
The same place
It surrounds me
Defies me
Destroys me
The ambience distracts me
The hatred, it pesters me
Every time I see her eyes
It's just your eyes
Blind
Stupid
And every time I look in the mirror
It's his face I see, and so I fear
The monster has a grip on me
The monster in him is now in me
I'm vain
I'm sick
I'm immature
What I say comes back to me
What I say goes straight through me
This world is evil
Every bit
I hate the evil
But I'm part of it.
