Reflections Poem by charlie bones

Reflections

I'm staring at my reflection,
seeing all of my battle scars,
And all of my pain connected with them,
Memories flash in front of my eyes,
Of the time where it all went wrong,
Of the time where the fight for my life began,
I run my fingers over my scars,
Each memory connecting with each scar,

It is interesting how the memory flashes of where things got bad are before your eyes as is yourself in your reflection. A subtle poetic hint to self-blame I like to think, though I suspect I'm being merely fanciful. It is a profound poem, and strangely enough scars can evantually mean so much to you in terms of memories and the very essence of who you are that weirdly you find yourself oddly attached to them. -M
