Reflections On A Venetian Painting - Poem by Catherine Mancini

Everything has a story,
Going back a thousand years,
Telling truths to anyone,
Who'll sit to give it ears.

Hear tales of lives,
Of loves, of loss,
And know what hides,
Behind that gloss.

See a single, brilliant thought,
Beneath a gilded frame,
Never is such splendour lost,
Forever, know its name.
