Refrain From Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Refrain From

Sympathize with liars
Be good suppliers
Of votes at the time of electins
When needed to raise heads sometimes

“Rupee kilo rice and free house”
That we heard for last 60 years”
“Remove poor first then poverty”
Voters are ready to sell their conscious and remain dreamy

Where greedy people remain
Cheaters may always find heaven
For their fooling activities
With such niceties

India is not short of magic sellers
With lucrative offer in wrapped cover
Find hones with free electricity
And India a free home sans bribery

We, the educated people” refrain from voting
Enjoy the day at home for chatting
They return in power with pride and energy
Poor get ready to receive more doses of misery

Refrain From
